With the leaves falling and the temperatures cooling off, we’re right in the midst of fall. Before you know it, the holiday season will be here and it will be time to throw a celebration. You might know our sister facility Windows on the Water as a venue for weddings and bar/bat mitzvahs, but did you know that we can help you plan a corporate or organization holiday party there? We offer a few tips to take your gathering to the next step.

Entertainment

Entertainment

Entertainment is important to the success of any company function, and can bring out the holiday cheer in everyone who attends. Most people think of a DJ or a live band as the main form of entertainment at a function. For a holiday party, limited indoor space doesn’t mean that you have to limit the options for fun.

Last year, Pharmacopia brought in a comedian named Joe Mulligan, who performs around New York City and Atlantic City. He brought his guitar and came up with holiday jingles in various music genres. Other options that we’ve seen include casino nights and masquerades.

The Menu

The Menu

Your holiday party is a time to wow co-workers with unique items on the menu. You can also choose to incorporate the theme of your event to the menu should you want to. Think of what you would want to serve and for how many people. We can offer waiter/waitress service, or serve food buffet style.

The same Pharmacopia event referenced above had a sophisticated menu with three separate courses. The event started off with hors d’oeuvres and small plates. For the main course, they had Miso Glazed Sea Bass and Black Risotto, along with our famous eight hour braised short ribs and garlic mashed potatoes. For dessert, they had cheesecake lollipops and cinnamon donuts.

Giving Back

Giving Back

The holidays are a great time to give back to those who are less fortunate. Many companies hold toy drives, food drives, and other donation events to help those in need enjoy the holidays. Last year, Merck created personal hygiene kits that would be sent out during the holiday season. If you would like to set up a donation box, let us know and we’ll help you find the right spot for it.
